ABOUT US – Clicks & Sticks Philosphy TM
What is Workplace Training That Clicks & Sticks TM ?
It is simple.
For learning to be meaningful, the information has to “click” in one’s brain. For it then to
be useable it has to “stick” long after it was received.
That’s what we do. And clients say we do it best.
How Does It Work?
We make it click.
Learning is not a spectator sport. We create highly engaging learning events based upon
your organization’s unique culture, policies and practices. We give employees important
and memorable tools to use in the workplace. We facilitate participants acquiring new
skills and demonstrating mastery of them. This process makes the experience meaningful
for every single participant. And, when training is meaningful and practical, it clicks.
What Are The Benefits?
We make it stick.
Employees retain and use the information in our programs to benefit your organization
and themselves. What they learn shows up in their skills and competencies. It shows up
at your workplace every day. This knowledge results in the highest return on your
organization’s training investment. After all, to be valuable it must be sustainable. It

ABOUT US Overview
Connecting with People
All businesses are made up of people and Mindy connects with them. Mindy’s
sensitivity in working with diverse individuals and groups comes, in part, from her
unique education and experience. Mindy earned her Masters in Social Work from the
University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked for ten years serving patients in acute and
chronic medical treatment settings. At the same time, she served those who served those
patients. She provided skills training to medical industry professionals and teams, “for
profit” corporate product and service providers, and related professional organizations.
She also gained keen insight into the organizational, legal and regulatory structures that
were involved in the provision of medical services.
Connecting With the Law
Building on her medical experience, Mindy realized that success in any venture requires
the ability to understand the law and to apply it in a wide variety of settings. To that end,
she attended Northwestern University School of Law from which she graduated in 1995.
While there, she published “Rx: Just What the Doctor Ordered: International Standards
for Medical Devices” in Northwestern’s highly regarded “Journal of International Law
and Business.” She ultimately served as one of the Journal’s Notes and Comments Editor
where she worked with other students and practicing attorneys in developing and editing
significant articles for publication.
Connecting With Litigation
After graduating from Northwestern, Mindy gained invaluable experience in personal
injury and employment matters. As a trial attorney, she investigated the facts that led to
lawsuits, deposed key corporate decisionmakers
and prosecuted her clients’ claims to
obtain favorable settlements and jury verdicts. While corporate defendants knew the law,
they were often unable to incorporate its principles into their employees’ everyday
practices and procedures. She saw that corporations needed to better train their frontline
employees, managers, executives and directors to eliminate the causes of the personal and
economic injuries upon which claims are based.
Connecting People and the Law
Better training became her primary objective. The “state of the art” was not working.
She became a partner in two established national law firms having significant
employment law expertise representing corporations. While there, she worked intimately
with the firms’ varied clients to develop a different kind of employmentrelated
training
for their people. She chose to ignore the customary hallmarks of employment training—
the history of employment laws, the citations to court cases, the use of footnotes, the
monotone lecture style and the “one size fits all” approach. In her training, people are
relaxed, engaged, thoughtful and interactive. Instead, her training programs focus on her
clients and their people learning, retaining and then applying key concepts and best
practices. The training focuses on results—it “sticks.”
Connecting with You
With substantive and practical experience in connecting with people and the law, Mindy
and her company—Mindy Chapman & Associates LLC—connect with business. One
size does not fit all. Businesses and organizations have different people, missions, values
and cultures. Mindy recognizes that every business is unique. In every engagement,
Mindy and her team make it a point to understand where your business has come from,

organization with a road map for the future effectively helps us to identify educational

TRAINING SERVICES – Overiew
“[L]eaving managers in ignorance of the basic
features of employment laws is an ‘extraordinary mistake’
for a company to make, and a jury can find that such an
extraordinary mistake amounts to reckless indifference.”
(Mathis v. Phillips Chevrolet, Inc., 269 F.3d 771 (7 th Cir. 2001)
Why Train? The Compliance Perspective
Nearly every employer in the United States has mandatory employment law training
obligations. The evolution of employment law training from a “good idea” to a legal
imperative is now a reality. Prudent employers were conducting employment law
training long before mandates were passed. Why? These employers realized that their
investment in employment law training paid for itself through increased productivity,
higher morale, lower litigation costs, and a positive impact on their financial bottom line.
Why Train? The Bottom Line Perspective
Claims of harassment and discrimination in the workplace are outrageously expensive
and the statistics prove it:
· Average United States jury award = $1.8 Million
· 1 of every 5 jury awards more than $1 Million
· Average outofcourt
settlement = $300,000 plus legal costs
· Amount of money paid out by employers to defend and resolve harassment and
discrimination claims has doubled in the last five years.
Legal experts predict employmentrelated
lawsuits are likely to rise dramatically.
Consequently, workplace training that avoids even one lawsuit is a great return on an
organization’s investment in its future.
Benefits of Workplace Training? A Legal “Affirmative Defense”
Effective workplace compliance training assists organizations in building affirmative
defenses against liability claims in litigation. Having a wellintended
harassment and
discrimination policy, alone, is not enough. As importantly, training only certain levels
of your workforce or only certain locations is not enough. Courts have held that training
is an essential element in proving that the employer exercised “reasonable care” to
prevent and correct harassing behavior. Effective workplace harassment prevention
training will build a strong affirmative defense against liability. In turn, this training
significantly reduces the chances of engaging in costly litigation.

CLIENTS, TESTIMONIALS & VIDEOS – Overview
One size does not fit all. But that doesn’t mean that one can’t fit many sizes. Years of
experience have taught us that when we invest our time and energy into understand your
industry and your business; you will get training that fits you. Starting with unparalleled
legal and substantive knowledge, we have been able build industry knowledge. With
each engagement, we make it our business to learn about you and your business. Perhaps
that is why the list of industries and companies we have trained is as deep as it is.
Knowing your business means knowing your people. Even within a highly functioning
organization, people perform different jobs at different levels. They have different
frames of reference, job descriptions and goals. However, our focus remains on creating
a learning process that fits their particular levels. We have trained people at virtually
every level. The key is that we do not train them as if they are all at the same level.
When you decide that training is right for your organization, you are responsible for
choosing the right training. We know you take that responsibility seriously and so do we.
After your people participate in training, you want to hear that they have not only
learned, but that the training exceeded their expectations. People who have chosen and
participated in our training have said those very things—in some unique ways.
